EXPERIMENTAL HURRICANE FORECAST
NJN WEATHER CENTER
TROPICAL DEPRESSION 2
720 PM TUES JUN 28TH 2005
Newly formed and poorly organized TD 2 formed today and will quickly be in and out of the tropical picture.
The TD formed in the Bay of Campeche and is expected to make landfall as possibly a very weak Tropical Storm Bret as early as during the overnight hours tonight.
The depression appears to be nearly hugging the coastline as it awaits for it's LLC to come on shore. Max winds are currently at 35 mph. The depression should be nothing more than a rainmaker.
As with any system.. the depression will dump copius amounts of rain.. depending on it's speed. and at 7mph as it's current movement.. that may mean it will take a slow trip through the Eastern Mexico areas.
TD 2 should quickly die out and be nothing more than a harmless remnant low after landfall.
Here's the forecast on TD 2: Only extended out 2 days because of short lifespan
Tonight: May become Bret before landfall. Lots of rain. Max Winds: 40 mph
Wednesday: Dissipated. Max Winds: 25 mph
