Is SFWMD quirky again?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Is SFWMD quirky again?

#1 Postby LCfromFL » Thu Jun 23, 2005 10:56 am

...it's showing a map for a 'Storm 80' located around 37W / 12 N

http://www.sfwmd.gov/org/omd/ops/weathe ... orm_80.gif

There is a blob there...

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/EATL/IR4/20.jpg

But the blob isn't mentioned in the 11:30 TWO...

I'm confused...is the SFWMD plot old or something (although they seem to have the right date)? What's up with this?

Good question - the NHC has not referenced this area in any outlooks.

Wait - it just hit me - it's an EVIL GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY!!!

They are deciding where they will generate the next storm and

NOPE.
Any storm in the 80 series of numbers is a test or research project. Nothing out there.

INVEST 94L is the "blob" near DR and it has had no model initialization since 18Z Wednesday.

Scott

PS: sfwmd will sometimes display tests...I do not
