All joking aside....since thats all I seem to do. I believe the possible system that may develop, and if it does, would probably occur in the next 24 - 36 hours. The thing this possible tropical system will have going for it, is a ULL that will soon be cutting off and moving west and southwest and high pressure soon to start building over the western Atlantic. So, all things said, if this system is slow to develop this system could possibly look to impact the Gulf and probably most likely Florida over the weekend and first of next week.
If the ULL moves too fast and the developing low doesnt move in tandum then we may expect to see a more hostile environment and no promising outflow or venting for the tropical system. As usual its a matter of timing.

& my thoughts for the immediate future are that a Special Tropical Disturbance Statement should be issued..I mean it wont do the folks in Haiti any good given the primitive conditions.the message wont get to many folks thre but at least it will show the the NHC is on top of this situation.
I'm not in any way bashing the NHC,I am just giving you my opinion on what I would do.
That is some fierce rains encroaching on an area that doesnt need much for a catastrophe.

It appears that moisture is going to go right over Hati. But the difference is from last May, is the Low is much weaker this time around. In will likely make its landfall on eastern Cuba. But after 3,200 people died after last may plus the 3,000 that died with Jeanne. When the news starts coming it will not likely be good.

I agree with the special tropical disturbance statement. I'm not into alarming people unnecesarily, but this storm will dump copius amounts of rain on Haiti, dominican republic, Jaimaca and Cuba whether it develops or not. 
The number of deaths they had down there last year due to flooding and mudslides was unbelievable. Some needs to get the word out that no matter what, they have a good probability of getting hammered.

There appears to be a weak broad low northwest of northwestern Jamaica. But that is not going to be the big problem with this system. This rain on the eastern quad. We need to keep check of the news coming out of there over the next few days.
