Winds above SFC make this a no go...but fun to have something out there.

A WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE IS PRODUCING CLOUDINESS AND VERY HEAVY RAINS OVER PORTIONS OF JAMAICA...EASTERN CUBA AND ADJACENT WATERS.
THESE RAINS COULD CAUSE LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODS AND MUD SLIDES. THIS ACTIVITY WILL LIKELY SPREAD NORTHEASTWARD OVER EASTERN CUBA AND THE SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION.

Thanks for the information!!! I saw the shear forecast yesterday and the pattern seems to be stubborn..but things can change fast in the tropics.. but very unlikely  From the consensus :D

It's about 4:30 central time. If you read this near 4:30, go check out the Goes 8 IR and run a loop. It sure has been a long time since we've seen a blob like that out there - development potential or not. We're gettin' close folks.

Yes indeed, Steve... We are getting close. The area of convection is impressive in itself, but not in counterclockwise circulation because of the shear in the region.
