TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1030 PM EDT SAT OCT 23 2004

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

CLOUDINESS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED
ABOUT 500 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE WINDWARD ISLANDS WILL LIKELY
SPREAD OVER THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS DURING THE NEXT DAY OR
TWO. THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF DEVELOPMENT.

A STRONG EXTRATROPICAL STORM CENTERED ABOUT 150 MILES NORTH OF
BERMUDA IS BEING MONITORED FOR SIGNS OF SUBTROPICAL DEVELOPMENT.
THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE TOWARD THE EAST AND NORTHEAST OVER
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS SYSTEM CAN
BE FOUND IN HIGH SEAS FORECASTS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE...UNDER AWIPS HEADER NFDHSFAT1 AND WMO HEADER FZNT01 KWBC.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE CENTERED BETWEEN THE LEEWARD ISLANDS
AND THE AZORES IS ACCOMPANIED BY A LARGE AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND
SHOWERS. UPPER LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT.

A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWESTERN CARIBBEAN
SEA ACCOMPANIED BY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SHOWS NO SIGNS OF
DEVELOPMENT.


ELSEWHERE..TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH MONDAY.

I was rather suprised with the earlier TWO, especially since Mr. Avila wrote it. The overall conditions throughout the basin are just not that favorable. It is late October.

An awful lot of action going on for "no development." Just the fact that so many areas of disturbance were mentioned leads me to think this was a CYA update.
