Something Irking me

#1 Postby Derek Ortt » Wed Apr 30, 2003 8:49 pm

One thing irking me big time. This is one teenage organization, who shall remain nameless here, saying that they are going to name systems as TD's and give them names BEFORE NHC does.

As most here knows, I have an independent forecasting service with a few others. However, giving systems names is way over the top, especially by people who have never had any formal meteo training

Luis, I read the thread you created welcoming the new name "GreatOne" registered with and a minute or two later the erroneous 'special weather statement.' I am glad that he was banned. Great job!

I almost hope he does something like naming a storm early. I will, with pleasure, report him to NOAA and just let them deal with him

That is immature of him. He needs to realize the ramifications of his actions if he were to do something like that.

I remember that dude from last year. He got banned on CHFC and USWW because of his insistance that a late season (October) Cat 5 was going to hit Tampa Bay. He was saying this in May or June and was adamant. He was incensed that no one believed him and finally admitted that he had a whoppingly bad case of ADHD. He means well, I think, but he just doesn't have the maturity level to contribute at the level he wants to.

Yeah, what Great One is a real...uh....weird guy, shall I say? He is always predicting cat 5's. That's totally uncalled for. We are lucky to get a category 5 once every 15 years in the Atlantic. But you will find this guy predicting most storms to develop into category 5's. Purely ludacris.

BTW....did you hear that Great One put RAINSTORM on his forecast team? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....WHAT A JOKE! LMAO!
