MAN I LOVE THE OUTER BANKS !!! :)

#1 Postby Anonymous » Fri Oct 15, 2004 10:27 pm

This really sums it up rather nicely:

Ya need to wake up and smell the fresh salt air
and hear the seagulls calling
and the surf rushing to the shore;
feel the sand beneath your toes and more.

Ever questing for that perfect balance
between wave and board
Swimming out eager for a thrill
and riding happy homeward.

Yeah.... I'll take the sand, the salt air, and the gulls any day. But my tall, skinny, and lanky butt damn sure can't find that "perfect balance" on a board - not to mention on one that's floating!! :lol:

Ya just gotta keep on keepin' on, Ixolib!! Never give up! You gotta have the surfing spirit! Keep on trying! It'll come! Not that the waves on the OBX are all that good for surfing, but you can always keep on trying!

I love that OBX beach so much! Bring on that optimum 77 degree, 64 dewpoint OBX optimum weather!! Ever enjoy a nice, leisurely 12-mile jebwalk on that lovely Nags Head beach? The waves, the sea foam, the sand, the seagulls, all the really cool shells you can find on that excellent OBX beach!!! What's REALLY fun is when the tide goes out, the water is really shallow and clear and you can see all the beautiful shells. You can gather SO MANY colorful shells and they are polished so smooth and clean by the ocean and sands! There is nothing quite like that salt spray and salt breeze! Man I have GOT to move down there for GOOD!!!

Yeah I am very, very addicted to the Outer Banks beaches!!

Now body surfing, you haven't lived until you get a boogie board and/or one of those sturdy rafts and you go WAY OUT where the waves break. Not those mickey-mouse three-foot ripples, I'm talking about going WAY out there where the big 6 to 8-foot breakers curl over!! Ever see one of those beauties? I love it when a whole set of 'em come rolling majestically in from some Atlantic storm way far out in the Atlantic and the storm is a fish.

Talk about clean energy! Talk about a FREE RIDE!!

WOOOOO---HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Man, WHAT A RUSH!!! You know what makes riding a big 8-foot wave so doggone exhilarating? It's because the wave is so darn wild that it could hurt you, and that element of danger is what REALLY delivers the thrill!! The exquisite THRILL of harnessing all that unbelievable energy, of riding it in on your raft or boogie board!! It makes you want to SHOUT FOR JOY!! It's so very eco-friendly, it does not pollute the environment, it has such amazing beauty, and its SO MUCH FUN TO RIDE!!!! You can easily spend hours out there catching those waves!! Oh the salt spray!! Oh the salt breeze!! The fun of having your very best friends out there with you, all of you enjoying the waves and the ocean. Man you don't ever need anything else!! All you need is that sweet salt air, some sea gulls for company, a few exquisitely beautiful seashells, the salt spray, the wonderful sea foam on the water and blowing along the beach, the sand, the dunes, the beach cottages, and some decent waves on that ocean and you have got it made for all time!! Make sure it's a nice warm day too!! Eighty degrees with 70-degree dewpoints ought to do it!! Plenty of sun and plenty of drinks and food and a few live bands for good measure!!

Yeah that is INDEED the way to live!!! :)
