Announcing the Birth of: Tropical Storm Matthew

#1 Postby JenyEliza » Fri Oct 08, 2004 11:30 am

When this storm becomes Matthew, could you please post his birth announcement here in this thread?

Otherwise...I am going to drive myself crazy clicking on threads, reading, reading, reading, and trying to glean every little shred of info to discern whether or not he has been born.

I'm not even a novice weather enthusiast...just a Mommy of two kids with family in FL, who carefully keeps up with weather events. I have no idea what I'm reading here when you get into technical discussions and acronyms...so a simple little "birth announcment" would be just perfect for folks like me!

Thanks in advance!

Tropical Storm Matthew was born today in the western Gulf of Mexico. At five o'clock, Matthew was measured and found to be 24.2 inches north and 93.8 inches west, lives about 260 miles east-southeast of Brownsville, Texas. The newborn has sustained winds are near 40 mph with higher gusts. Anyone living along the northern Gulf of Mexico eastward to the west coast of Florida should closely monitor the progress of newborn Tropical Storm Matthew.

Matthew has no relations currently in the Eastern Pacific who are organized.

A maternal relative, Super Typhoon Ma-On lives about 290 miles east-southeast of Okinawa, Japan at the present time and is unable to visit the newborn Matthew at this time.
