Breaking news..Florida is allowed to combine all hurricanes

They are combining all hurricanes into one to be allowed to get more government help. Do you think that insurance companies will do the same? Doubt it!

Got a letter in the mail today about an emergency order enacted stating that insurance companies in Florida are not allowed to cancel policies for any reason including due to non payment from september 1 2004-October 15th 2004 due to Hurricane Frances.

What it says is that Jeb Bush has requested that the Federal Government consider all four events as one. I don't see any indication that the Federal Government has agreed to this as of yet....

However it does put the issue on the political radar, and the president would be a fool not to grant this request. Florida's twenty-seven electoral votes will be crucial to his re-election on November 2nd.

As a side note, for some real economic relief they should force the insurance companies to consider the four events as one. The double and possibly triple deductible issue is an economic killer for many seniors on fixed incomes.

If they're smart.. they'll consider them all 1 event.. because paying 3-4 deductibles is just obsurd

When you buy insurance you agree to the terms of the deductibles. Premiums are set based on recieving dedcutibles. If they were forced to combine deductibles it would make insurance companies less likely to want to do business in the state and more likely to charge higher premiums. It would set a bad precident.
