Was there any rain NOT from a tropical system? There wasn't here(although we only ended up with a modest 7" from Frances and Ivan)

It was the same way throughout much of Georgia....Atlanta recorded the 2nd most September rainfall amount ever....over 13.50". Macon and Athens, Georgia both set new rainfall records for the month of September.

At my home west of Atlanta, "only" 8.11" fell during September, but that's still almost three times normal...as September is normally a very dry month in the Atlanta area. All except 0.50" can be attributed to the nearby passage of Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.

My dad lives about 25 miles to my south (near Newnan, Georgia), and his gauge recorded 16.52" during September (or nearly 500% of normal)....6.63" courtesy of Frances, 5.85" from Ivan, and 3.48" as Jeanne passed to the southeast.

Well, right now, just a quarter-inch of rain could cause some serious street flooding in some places.

Also, Lake Okeechobee is nearly 2 1/2 feet above normal. 17.86 feet, which is pretty high. Last time it got that high, they released about two feet (and then we had a drought). It's been above 18 feet in the past, but I'm not sure at what point it gets critical.
