A couple of random facts for you...

Since TD 01L (which became Alex) formed on July 31, the Atlantic has had an active cyclone every single day since then.

If you look at all of the world's basins collectively, the tropics have had at leasted one cyclone every day since TD 04E (which became Celia) formed on the 19th of July.

With Lisa and 03A being finalized today (Oct 03 -- using UTC), if Oct 4 does not see another storm form, the streak will end. With that being said, two invests are active. 99W in the WPAC and 96B in the Bay of Bengal.

Doh... the stats I had wrote down were in error. Thanks for the correction Brent.

I had Earl weakening on the 26th, not the 16th.

Regardless, there was other activity for that week in the EPAC and WPAC.

I was just noticing that, Luis. Yup, as the Atlantic quiets down, the other basins wake back up.

ROFLMBO! Now I know it's late and I need to get to sleep.

I read this entire thread...to myself in my head, of course...but softly in thought, like a whisper...as if you were actually trying to keep us quite, Senorpepr.

Bahahahahahahahaha!!! *slaps knees at the silliness of it all and then shuts down to go to bed*

Yeah... DANIELLE's last advisory was issued at 11am on Sat Aug 21. (EARL degenerated on Aug 16)
Then it was nice and quiet, "Atlantically speaking" (hehe) on the 22nd and 23rd August before advisories initiated on TD 6 at 11pm on Aug 24 on what was to become Hurricane Miss you know who (FRANCES).

So apart from Aug 22 and 23, this is the first full day without any tropical depressions or stronger in the Atlantic basin since that lovely summer day of July 30.

Sure feels good
