Bridges Out in the Panhandle

#1 Postby South Tampa » Thu Sep 16, 2004 5:36 pm

Everyone knows that the 1-10 bridge across Pensacola Bay is out.

Here are some other bridge closings.

1. Garcon Point Bridge in Santa Rosa county (Just East of Pensacola)
2. US 98 Pensacola Bay Bridge connecting Pensacola to Gulf Breeze
3. Lillian Bridge at the Florida Alabama state line on US 98
4. Shalimar bridge in FWB
5. SR 30 (US 98) Between Destin & Ft. Walton Beach

There are others but these are the ones that I know where they are.

Wasn't Sandi in Gulf Breeze?

Very mixed reports from Gulf Breeze

On the sound side, quite a bit of flooding damage

On the north side, my borther's neighborhood looks pretty good as do several others

If it makes you feel any better, I was able to talk with my mom all morning with no problems, now this afternoon and evening I cannot reach her either via land line or cell. (cell is no surprise)

Overall reports for Pensacola homes seem to be "some problems" but not complete devestation as far as structural damage. Now on the barrier islands, well the phots speak for themselves.

I hope it's just a cell phone tower problem, thanks
