Hurricane Hugo Incarnate?

#1 Postby Hurricane Cheese » Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:06 am

Ivan is really starting to remind me of Hugo....huge storm, same winds, nearly the same pressure, both were Cat 5's over the open Atlantic....

Only difference is Ivan is in the Gulf...

Ivan...135 mph...940 mb

Hugo...135 mph...941 mb

I remember tornado's rocked Charlotte NC with Hugo. Sister's house had major damage after Hugo...What's Charlotte 300 some miles from where Hugo made land fall?

Hugo was traveling faster as it moved inland, while Ivan is forecasted to slow down as it moves inland.

I have a good friend who lives in Rock Hill, SC and she and her mother and brothers were w/out power for (I forget) how many days after Hugo.
