ULL coming closer...

Notice as this situation develops, the steering currents are getting lighter, Ivan is hardly moving, if at all, and notice the direction of the winds and clouds over the eastern GOM. The wind flow and clouds are being blown towards the east over the GOM as opposed to being blown west.

and that means what. not much, since it's all upper level and not steering level. if anything some shear may result and a bit of weakening beyond cuba.

Why don't you give it up! Alabama will be spared. People as well as hurricanes visit Miami more often than Alabama. That can be proven statistically.

What is your point here? Are you trying to say that because people and hurricanes visit Miami more, Ivan will visit Miami?

I don't want this storm. Even if it follows the NHC track, I'll still get rain and some wind from it.

How many times has Miami been hit?

How many times has the Panhandle been hit?

Panhandle is much more likely, especially where this system is now.

This is not hitting Miami, its already almost at its longitude. However, people cannot rule out a SW coast hit such as Naples.

Umm steering winds are found at the upper and mid levels not the lower levels.

The ULL in the Atlantic is beginning to stall and retrograde back to the east...this is apparent on the 1815 WV Loop...
