Let's have a pause
I think it is the time for us here to join in a prayer for those over 2 millon people in Jamaica hoping that they get out of this without any tragic news.

Yep. An approaching cat 4 from the SE...if the track (wobble) holds. PLus...it is deepening at 2.3 mb/hr over last 3 hours. Could be back in the 920 range by the time it gets there.
PRayer indeed. I also heard a lot of people did not want to leave their houses because of looters. So...many people are in their homes.

I agree. Jamaica definitely needs our prayers right now.
One of our local mets this morning said he'd read on the internet that the Jamaican Weather Service was out on strike and were not covering Ivan. Has anyone heard anything about that?
