Can someone give me a Coral Springs, FL damage report?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Can someone give me a Coral Springs, FL damage report?

#1 Postby HugoCameandLeft » Tue Sep 07, 2004 11:12 am

I have friends that live in Coral Springs, and have not been able to get in touch with them thus far (for reasons unrelated to Frances). Can anyone there give me an idea how substantial the damage was?

few trees down, power outages...typical stuff. nothing like palm beach county and north of there. dont worry coral springs and its 10 million strip malls are intact.

I live in Coral Springs. The damage was minor (mostly trees down.)

1/3 of our county lost power during the storm. Much of it is restored.

Where in Coral Springs do they live?

Honestly I dont remember the exact address - all I know is that its a community about a mile down from the terrorist lived (hate to relate it to that, but its all I remember) -- My friend now lives in Chapel Hill, NC - It's his family Im inquiring about.

I live about a mile from where the terrorist lived. Would be funny if your friend's family were neighbors of mine. If you have a name, PM me and I'll look up the address and I can tell you what is going on in their area.

As I said, trees down and sporadic power outtages still, but much less than on the first day.

Barring any real bad luck, the family should be fine. To my knowledge, no one in C.S. lost roofs, etc. Just trees and power (and we didn't even lose power at my house!)

I live near Andrews and Prospect. I didn't lose power or my DSL, but my home telephone has been out since Friday. Bellsouth says it will be on before the 19th. I'm thankful for my cell phone.

I wouldn't worry about anyone in Coral Springs... they may be uncomfortable, but they're probably doing fine.
