If you don't have a full gas tank...drop everything and go top off NOW!!!! Once people get wind of this it will take longer if not become impossible to get gas and you don't know when it will become available near you again!

St Lucie County has closed all government offices and schools for Thursday and Friday. There is a mandatory curfew in effect Friday evening at 8pm through Saturday morning. As of right now, they are not doing any mandatory evacuations but are calling for voluntary. They will start mandatory at noon tomorrow for mobile home residents and people living on Hutchison Island.

In the meantime, QVC still hasn't made up it's mind whether we will stay open or close. They have provided us a special number to call after 5:15 this evening when they hope to have some sort of decision.

I'm living just west of the Florida Turnpike in a wooden frame structure but we have hurricane panels that will be put up first thing in the morning. Spent the afternoon gathering last minute supplies.

Interesting to note that the local Walmart supercenter was bare - couldn't find any soups/crackers, canned vegetables, water, bread, etc. Batteries are non-existant. Thankfully, we had most of what we needed.

A thunderstorm earlier this week blew out my ethernet card and I was lucky to get it fixed right away. I'm not taking any chances with this monster and will unhook the computer as the storm gets closer. It's also harder and harder to get to Storm2K because of the traffic.

So if I don't get here again before the storm makes rainfall, good luck to everyone in the path and stay safe.

Good ole PBP, previously GoPBI/Lowes/Storm99/etc.

How sad that the city that hosts one of the first boards where many of us inaugural S2K'ers all met is now under the gun. :(

I posted a couple of posts there earlier today, but before that I really hadn't used it much anymore. *sentimental sigh*

I hope they all make it through this.
