The ITCZ or (Intertropical Convergence Zone) is a little more north than last year at this time of the year as it soon will begin to produce those impulses or waves that will come out of Africa.
However the zone will fluctuate between active and not so active during the next 6 months but let's follow this convergence zone especially those who live in the caribbean as I am to see what kind of cape verde season it will be.

It WILL fluctuate throughout the offseason, as the two phases of MJO move in and out of the region. However, keep in mind last year we had a strengthening El Nino, which helped damper the ITCZ. This year El Nino will be completely absent, so the ITCZ should overall be more active than last year. Now this is assuming the Atlantic subtropical ridge is favorable, which is an open question.
