Report from Puerto Rico

#1 Postby cycloneye » Tue Aug 31, 2004 3:12 pm

Nothing major happened here as major hurricane Frances passed as a brush to our north. From the miday time only a few bands arrived with some heavy showers and winds in gusts from the range of 18-26 mph and maybe a little bit higher in the mountains but that was it.I think it was wise to not open the schools here because you never know what would happen with a major cane passing to our north. So we dodged the big bullet but I send prayers to those who live upstream in the Bahamas islands and anywhere in the US where it makes landfall.

hi Luis
I justs ent you a pm. I didn not notice this post until now.
I am pleased that PR also escaped the worst of Frances.
we were all very lucky.
We will all watch what Frances does now and hope and pray that those in her path will be safe.

Glad it's passing you by safely, cycloneye.

I agree about the schools. It would be really foolish to have all those kids on the road if it had moved just a little closer.

Soon it'll be your turn to pray for us ... :-/

Surely I will pray for the folks upstream in the Bahamas and somewhere in the US where this monster may make landfall.
