A strong tropical wave located in the far eastern atlantic SW of the Cape Verde islandsis moving west between 10-15 mph.The wave still is poorly organized however there are signs that a surface low may be developing in the wave axis. The potential is there for this system to become a tropical cyclone in the comming 2-3 days. The storm2k forecast team will continue to monitor the system and any changes will be posted.
The remanants of Danielle are located in the northern central atlantic and it is trying to come back but it will have a tough time doing so because of marginal sst's in the area. This system has to be watched by marine interests in the shipping lanes.
Elsewhere in the North Atlantic Basin:
Nothing of interest to mention at this time.
Tropical storm formation is not expected thru tuesday.
