My fear for the Tampa Bay area

#1 Postby weatherSnoop » Sun Aug 15, 2004 11:10 pm

is increased complacency.

The moment Charley made the definite eastward motion the relief I felt was immense but brief as my concern for my neighbors to the south was intense. My heart, prayers and "hurricane cash on hand" go out to them. As I drove to work today, I found myself feeling so grateful that power poles lined the road, traffic lights remained on and where they belong, and that the trees around me stood upright with limbs and leaves. I did not have to look at physical and emotional devastation.

I hope those who were "forced" to evacuate take time to feel the same!
I am concerned there may be many who feel they wasted there time and money for nothing. From watching videos of the storm's fury through the state...I don't want to be around for the next one. I am not in an evacuation zone, so I will attempt to leave the roads clear for those who are. I will be more prepared than ever before; realizing now I only thought I was this time.

Everyone keep an eye on the cone and heed the warnings...please
