30 frames of the "Gulf System". Save that link- it updates each time a new frame is added.

Note the ESE jet coming into the Yucatan between Cozumel and Belize heading into the northern part of that upper low now moving WSW into Mexico. Convection with the disturbance is being drawn WSW toward the Yucatan by that jet. Tstms are diminishing north-south over the past 3-4 hours. The key will be whether the blob near 21.3N/85.5W (near the lower-level circulation, perhaps 850mb-700mb) actually takes over and develops overnight. Or the storms could just move over the Yucatan tonight.

Excellent loop, thank you!

No doubt it's trying to organize and moving WNW.

I noticed that ESE jet also ... and it'll either serve to rip this thing to shreds as a bow echo develops out of that ... OR .. should something pop well away from it, provide one hell of an outflow channel ...
