GOM pressures falling again..........

Probably means little, but convection in mid-GOM has been pretty persistent the past few days.

This will happen throughout the year. Pressures stabilized and rising again.. on the bouy site is a 45 day record of all meteorological observations. Go there to see the normal variability which happens in terms of pressures. Also the straight line of convection indicates to me a trough, anyone else have a reason for these not so low pressures?

My take is that it's just related to the east coast trof dipping into the GOMEX. Usually on the E/SE side of these things, you get quite a bit of convection due to the diffluent (SP?) flow. Not on water vapor how dry the N GOMEX is vs. the S GOMEX...
