visibles and the eye

Don't be fooled by the visible images...you cannot see the eye on visible images...best to consult local radar to determine this.

if you want an idea where the eyewall winds are in realation to the outer banks check out the following. The band right about the doppler logo is the eye wall winds

Not to worry.

Buzz Bernard of The Weather channel says

"...gusts as high as 60 mph will continue to hammer the Outer Banks from Cape Hatteras southward today as the eye of Alex thunders by only 20 or 30 miles from the beaches."

I think he's in a total state of denial of what's about to happen.
