SSTA'S are starting to warm in the atlantic

This data confirms what I posted 3 weeks ago about the waters warming in the Bahamas and at the EGOM but also now it is starting to warm also in the tropical atlantic but in a more slower pace. And the east coast of the US also is warming so if this trend continues it will be one of the factors that will be favorable.

No chad 2003 looks more warmer than 2002 as you can look at the red and yellow colors off the east coast this year compared to the blue colors last year and also the GOM and near the Bahamas the same.

Luis or anyone else, do you think the GOM will be more active than it was last year (I know it is very early on in the game) Just wondering what your thoughts are?

Actually, the GOM was very active last season. There was a total of six named storms that originated or moved into the Gulf. So it would be unlikely to have as many Gulf storms this season as we had last season.

Luis, thank you for the current information on potentially having "Tropical Storm Ana" as early as June or July. Looking forward to following another Hurricane Season. :)
