Hey i went to the beach the other weekend and the waters seem to be little warmer then normal is that normal? The gulf waters are ranging from upper 70's to low 80's is that normal? If so these gulf is going to be like a bath tub with warm water for the storms to fuel off if so we in trouble this season!!!

I was out at Las Palmas beach (west end of Galveston) this weekend. Water was pretty cool there. In addition, there were the strongest, highest waves I've seen in a while (aside from those present during a TS or cane, in which case, I'm not going to be in the water!) and the undertow was bear to fight against.
Mostly, the SST's here have been around 77-78 these past couple of weeks, if not longer.
