WELCOME HURRICANE SEASON 2004 !

#1 Postby cycloneye » Fri Apr 23, 2004 6:09 am

Well here it comes folks as time has gone fast from last seasons finnalle with the rare december storm named Peter. Are you ready for the ride thru the season? It will be an exciting season for tracking but we have to make a balance as we dont want hurricanes especially majors to hit a place in particular.

Wow, just 39 days. The off-season has flown by, and fortunately, it wasnt too boring. 3 Atlantic storms in the off season isn't to bad :)

Should be quite exciting to see what occurs this season. We had an april storm last year. Wonder if we see a May storm b4 June 1st. Either way you slice it, it's coming soon and I'm ready and pumped up for the hurricane.

I think a major GOM storm will form in July.

Is that a guess or it is more a scientific based outlook?

Ready as well here.. We had a little snow to hold me over during the winter, and the storms "thunderstorms" have begun to show up here in Virginia as well to keep me busy until June 1... The iTCZ looks active the past few days, and if we remember correctly, it started out like this about this time last year.. The African wave train began to come to life early... Already reminds me of that last year... Now,,, the clock starts ticking....

Also, I know it is a bit off topic, but here is a link to see some photos taken during some thunderstorms on Monday.. Hope you enjoy..

Bring it on!

I am so ready! This will be the first year in a long time that I have not been required to be at work if a storm hits. I left the job that was an inpatient rehab with NO disaster plan (until after hurricane season) and now has a generic plan (not a good idea). I now am a nurse in a doctors office and I am sure we are not going to be here seeing patients if a hurricane is coming. Yahoo! Last year we in the New Orleans dodged a big bullet. My daughter was 9 months preg in Sept. last year. I was really worried we would have a storm and I would be at one end of the city and she would be at the other end. I would have had to quit if she had delivered during a hurricane--LOL. I am looking forward to the season this year. The only problem I have is my Hubby is working at a hospital on the Miss Gulf Coast. We have a home in both places now. I have to decide which is safer or go inland. Oh Well!

Going inland would probably be safer!
