Borderline 1/2 now

The temp difference between the eye and the eye wall has increased this evening, indicative of a stronger storm. I do not have an ODT program available at my disposal so I cannot verify this for sure, but this now looks like a weak cat 2 with winds of about 85KT

I know AFWA was saying T5.0 earlier... we'll see if they upgrade it...

I'm curious...

Why are there articles saying this storm has already made landfall and is not a hurricane? Could part of the outerbands be scraping the coast and confusing them? Is it not a hurricane? What is going on?

If you search news.google.com for hurricane you will see all sorts of various news articles about what this storm is doing or has already done. Yet it looks as if it has not even made landfall yet.

I really don't know if the Brazilians know what they're talking about. I just hope the damage isn't too bad as this is most definately a hurricane.

I think they are about to get a lesson in Complacency. Unfortunately the hard way.
