:rarrow: A) TC Gafilo (16S): At 09/1730Z...
Position near 20.2S 42.3E (280nm W of Antananarivo, Madagascar)
Movement toward the SSW at 9 mph
Maximum sustained winds are 75 mph
Minimum central pressure is 976 mb
T# numbers: 3.0/3.0

Gafilo is still hanging on strong as he remains situated in the Mozambique Channel. Expect weakening to occur as landfall occurs.

:rarrow: B) TC Nicky (17S): At 09/1730Z...
Position near 13.6S 91.0E (350nm WSW of Cocos Islands)
Movement toward the SSE at 5 mph
Maximum sustained winds are 60 mph
Minimum central pressure is 987 mb
T# numbers: 3.0/3.0

17S has strengthened well throughout the day, thus earning her the name “Nicky” from the Western Australian Tropical Centre. Expect Nicky to continue to grow under a favorable environment. However, after the 24-hour point, expect Nicky to reach maximum intensity, with some slight weakening thereafter.

Position near 13.3S 107.2E
Maximum sustained winds are 30 mph
Minimum central pressure is 1002 mb

This new invest is near the Greater Sunda Islands of Indonesia. There is some potential for this to strengthen as to moves away from the islands.
