Maximum sustained winds are 30 mph
Minimum central pressure is 1002 mb

The remnants of Evan is becoming more diminished. The JTWC has downgraded the potential for Evan’s redevelopment to poor.

B) TC Gafilo (16S): At 06/1630Z...
Position near 14.8S 52.5E (410nmn NW of Mauritius)
Movement toward the W at 10 mph
Maximum sustained winds are 165 mph
Minimum central pressure is 892 mb (26.34”)
T# numbers: 7.5/7.5

The powerhouse of a cyclone is poised to bare down on Madagascar. Expect some weakening to occur with decreased outflow and interaction with land. Gafilo currently presents a 20n eye on satellite imagery.

This new invest arrived last night on NRL Monterey’s website. It is currently located nearly halfway between Diego Garcia and Indonesia. JTWC has yet to issue any guidance on 97S.
