Wait...now we have conflicting dates. I've always thought the workshop was held on Wednesday mornings. Is this something different ticka??

But...it's always been held in the mornings...from 8-noon. I don't doubt you, but it's just that the NWS had something different, and the time you received is different. :-?

The workshop is on Wednesday, May 26th, from 8am to noon, as it always has been:

From the NHC web site:
The 2004 Houston/Galveston Hurricane Workshop will be Wednesday, May 26. More details coming soon!

And here's the link to the times:
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/hgx/tropical/meetings04.htm

I don't know what conference y'all are talking about in the evenings, but it's not this one. Here's the ad from last year:

The 2003 Houston/Galveston Hurricane Workshop was held on Wednesday, May 28th, from 8 AM until 12 PM at the Pasadena Convention Center located on Fairmont Parkway near the intersection with Red Bluff in Pasadena. This year's theme focused on the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Alicia, the last major hurricane to make landfall along the upper Texas coast.

The information I received was sent to me by the Emgerency Management Department for the city that I work for..... perhaps they are making an additional session available for individuals at night to attend.

Since the link lists Gene as the contact, I will try and do so within the next few days. I find it odd that they would hold two sessions, given budgetary constraints and also odd that they would hold the session at night, but one never knows. I'll let you know what I find out.

There is nobody there in the evenings at the Pasadena Convention Center. We've been exhibiting there since 1998. The conference always ends at noon with the drawings. Everyone then packs up and leaves. You may be thinking about the Fort Bend conference, which is held in the evenings. Ron Stagno (former MIC of the Houston/Galveston office) was working with that conference, which caters more to the general public.

Well, it looks like they made a change recently without informing the exhibitors. The earlier links I posted had the meeting on the 26th from 8-noon. I like the morning time better. Now I will be at work from 7am to 10pm. See y'all there!
