SSM/I Site (Really Good)

#1 Postby MWatkins » Thu Feb 19, 2004 11:59 am

Following a brilliant strategy, I've been picking up SSM/I data from the NRL site after it had been reprocessed, creating a delay in picking up the image. After the lazyness cleared up, I was able to track down this source for SSM/I data which is pretty darn good. I bet some folks already know about it. For example, check out the data for the only active cyclone out there right now:

Here's the main site with everything.

Enjoy. Lot's 'o' data here.

Remote sensing systems is a great organization. Their SSM/I data is outstanding and consists of many variables. That is where I get all of the SSMI data for the research (although it does require two different programs to process the data on your own). However, the raw data that is available does undergo some quality control, as does the NRL data. For the most part, the two are equal. The very raw data comes form NASA and REMSS is subcontracted by NASA to process the data
