Don't expect 01W to strenghten much...conditions won't be favorable for more than a few days. There isn't much of a landfall threat either.

Hmm, it's pretty well organized. Well, there's finally, a Northern Hemisphere storm.

JTWC Advisory #01 on TC01W

#4 Postby Aslkahuna » Wed Feb 11, 2004 7:01 pm

places it 150 S of Agaña Guam with winds of 25kt. the system is moving NW at 12kt and is expected to intensify to 60kt in 48 hours after passing closely west of Guam. By 72 hours, the system will be interacting with the Polar Front and will weaken to 45kt. The chances of becoming a typhoon are small though not totally out of the question. However, climatologically only one typhoon occurs here every 10 years on average.

is also now issuing advisories on TC12P (Fritz) in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Landfall about 60NM NNW of Burketown is expected in about 12 hours.
