Nothing unusual there as the troughs amplify this time of the year going down into the deep tropics unless you are thinking that it will develop into a tropical storm. :lol: :lol: :lol:

:roll: Heavens no! Luis. No thoughts of tropical activity, just wasn't sure about the amount of moist air during the off season. Actually, I rarely check out the E. Atlantic after November, but was bored this morning :wink:

Yes I know that you weren't thinking of anything tropical there :) Dixie when the troughs deeps down into the tropics the divergent flow causes convection to increase in the atlantic but the shear is very strong for anything to get going and of course the waters are below 80*F.

Sure looks impressive though doesnt it? I guess I just cant let go of Hurricane Season 2003.

I assume there are non-tropical weather events, some systems even with strong, gusty winds. Storms over the ocean can be intense, especially those in the northern Atlantic off of New England and eastern Canada between December and May. :)
