#1 Postby dixiebreeze » Wed Dec 10, 2003 7:07 pm

FLARE-UP "IMPRESSIVE".......

CARIBBEAN...
THE CARIBBEAN REMAINS PRIMARILY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A
ANTICYCLONE OVER THE SW CARIBBEAN WITH RIDGE EXTENDING NWD OVER
E CUBA INTO THE W ATLC. A SHORTWAVE TROUGH IS EMBEDDED WITHIN
THE LARGER SCALE RIDGE PATTERN EXTENDING FROM GUATEMALA/HONDURAS
NWD THROUGH THE YUCATAN CHANNEL. THIS TROUGH IS PRODUCING AN
IMPRESSIVE LINE OF SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS FROM E CUBA SWD OVER
JAMAICA TO THE SW CARIBBEAN. FURTHER E...THE S EXTENT OF A
TROUGH OVER THE CENTRAL ATLC CLIPS THE NE CARIBBEAN FROM THE
VIRGIN ISLANDS TO 15N70W WITH ASSOCIATED MODERATE SUBSIDENCE AND
DRY AIR OVER THE HISPANIOLA...PUERTO RICO...AND THE LEEWARD
ISLANDS. THE ATTENDANT WEAKENING STATIONARY BOUNDARY...FROM THE
VIRGIN ISLANDS TO 14N70W...IS PRODUCING SOME LOW TO MID LEVEL
CLOUDINESS AND WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS.
