TWO 10:30 ADVISES CLOSE MONITORING OF INVEST 90 AS.......

#1 Postby dixiebreeze » Sun Nov 02, 2003 11:08 pm

IT MOVES ACROSS S. FLORIDA......

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1030 PM EST SUN NOV 2 2003

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A LARGE...WELL-DEFINED NON-TROPICAL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM...CENTERED
ABOUT 30 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF FREEPORT GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND...OR
ALSO ABOUT 100 MILES EAST OF FORT LAUDERDALE FLORIDA...IS MOVING
WEST TO WEST-SOUTHWESTWARD AT 20 TO 25 MPH. SATELLITE...DOPPLER
RADAR...AND SURFACE WEATHER OBSERVATIONS INDICATE THAT THIS SYSTEM
HAS BECOME A LITTLE BETTER ORGANIZED THIS EVENING. SUSTAINED WINDS
OF 25 TO 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 40 MPH...HAVE BEEN REPORTED
WEST THROUGH NORTH OF THE CENTER OF CIRCULATION. THE SYSTEM IS
EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS SOUTH FLORIDA TONIGHT AND EMERGE OVER THE
EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO DURING THE DAY MONDAY...AND THERE IS STILL
THE POTENTIAL FOR SUBTROPICAL OR TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION DURING
THE NEXT DAY OR SO. HOWEVER... EVEN IF THE LOW DOES NOT
DEVELOP...IT IS STILL EXPECTED TO BRING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND
STRONG GUSTY WINDS TO PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTH FLORIDA TONIGHT
AND MONDAY. INTERESTS AROUND FLORIDA AND THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO
SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS SYSTEM CAN BE FOUND IN HIGH SEAS
FORECASTS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE...UNDER AWIPS
HEADER NFDHSFAT2 AND WMO HEADER FZNT02 KWBC...AND ALSO IN FORECASTS
ISSUED BY YOUR LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
TUESDAY.

It does look better organized, but thats how they are they need a little land to get them going.

Interesting ... since the area has shrunk in side and may be trying to consolidate ... but IMO, it doesn't look as organized as it did 24-48 hours ago.

I agree SF, but the NHC record is pretty darn good this season, so I'll keep monitoring the wave when it hits the GOM.

I sure do remember Erika. The last advisory on "her" was issued 78 days ago.
