Time to take this seriously

Looks like we have a developing STS or TS moving toward Florida now. Do not forsee a hurricane unless the convection wraps much better than it is, though a moderate to strong TS is not completely out of the question. Just monitor the situation if you are in Florida, but this is not a panick event

I agree completely with you....this may catch many in fl offguard. Convection is now deepening right over the center. Should this continue obviously then by the time it reaches florida it will be tropical. Lets hope it it doesnt sustain this deep convection through tommorrom night or a minimal hurricane is not out of the question. Currently the transition is taking place and the overnight hours will be pivitol...

Now that I have ran my mouth indicating no hurricane, watch this become a cat 2. I am assuming that this will not be the traditional late season intensification that often occurrs, as was the case with Olga due to more unfavorable atmospheric conditions

Good advice.. I think Florida's last november storm was... Guess who.. Josephine in 1996 lol :) Florida may indeed get it's 3rd landfalling storm of the year.

Lets wait and see if Nicholas/Odette develops like it appears to be doing.

Perhaps the NHC will regret not sending the plane out :) lol

Josephine was an early October storm.

Florida's last Nov storm was Mitch in 1998

That;s right ChaD.. I just watched both Channel 6 and 9 and they both think it will remain just "remnants".

Potential dangerous situation setting up..

They would probably mention more about the system in the Orlando viewing area if this were a weekday. Unfortunate circumstances.

No matter what this system does, it is still there and should be mentioned for viewers to take into consideration.

I wouldn't call it a potentially dangerous situation ... But very noteworthy that it needs to be conveyed to the public to expect some stormy weather ahead ...

As has been mentioned, and rightly so. Some systems like this become truly tropical and make landfall, catching people off guard when not brought to their attention beforehand.

It seems as though local forecasters have been lulled by the calendar.
