I took the time...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.

This would be amazing especially considerring Nicholaus developed near the Cape verdes---made it 1/2 way across, was downgraded... Now may regenerate and make it all the way-Could get wild as we approach Halloween/november.:BOO:

Discussion from Miami NWS
GFS TRIES TO DEVELOP SURFACE LOW IN ASSOCIATION WITH UPPER LEVEL
TROUGH ROTATING AROUND STATIONARY UPPER RIDGE OVER THE SOUTHEAST
U.S. MODELS HAVE BEEN FAIRLY CONSISENT OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS IN
SHOWING THIS FEATURE WITH ROUGHLY SIMILAR TIMING SO WILL GENERALLY
ACCEPT 12Z GFS SOLUTION AND INCLUDE IT IN THIS FORECAST PACKAGE.
AFTER CAUSING WINDS TO HOWL ON HALLOWEEN...THE LOW IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE ACROSS (OR TO THE SOUTH OF) SOUTH FLORIDA THIS WEEKEND BRINGING
AN INCREASED CHANCE OF MAINLY SHOWER ACTIVITY...AND MAYBE A RUMBLE OR
TWO OF THUNDER ON SUNDA

I viewed these tropical systems last night from Unisys Weather, too.

The Hurricane Season would end before November 30th, if tropical systems didn't form in the month of November. :)

WOW

Out of the 13 HC that affected land, only 5 came in contact with the CONUS. 3 of them are ancient 1916 1925 1935 and 2 are recent Kate 1985 and Gordon 1994. Notice the 50 year gap between 1935 and 1985. I guess you could say November HC's are rare for CONUS.

Good research, Floydbuster! This tells me that if Odette forms, becomes a hurricane and affects land - it is something that is pretty rare for November.

Thanks for the tracks Floyd. They sort of confirm my idea that most anything coming into the Gulf in November would essentially end up going ENE(ish) if it didn't dive into Central America.

If the premise by Joe B and the Global models comes to fruition, it would be unprecidented in modern times.

Hey, all I'm looking for is a free day off.

Steve, I wouldn't mind a day off either, if it's gonna be almost summerlike outside, why not have a TC too?
