Blow up to happen today..

#1 Postby DESTRUCTION5 » Mon Oct 20, 2003 6:33 am

Today is the day that the W carribean will blow up..Just got that low pressure feeling. Now the question will be will it pull a Michelle like the models are depicting or will JB get his hit on FL? Lets sit back and enjoy the last gasp of the 2003 season...

JB still think he's gonna get a hit??? Deal is the CMC and GFS are showing the trough pulling NE and the if a low does develop, it would get caught under the ridge that rebuilds in the wake of the trough. But the GFS and CMC show NO significant development. Wait and see. CHeers!!

One thing appears certain - if anything develops in the SW Caribbean in the next 10 days, it ISN'T coming to Florida. Extremely strong westerly winds aloft extend all the way south to the northern Caribbean, and are forecast to remain in place for quite a while.

12Z NOGAPS now shows a development TS skirting western Jamaica, and heading NW toward western Cuba; either with a cyclonic loop or heading to the SE GOM at 120 hours! Let's see if future runs support this and/or the westerly winds aloft weaken (*as 57 pointed out). Cheers!!! PS: If those westerlies stay strong and kill this system (should it even develop) we may put a fork in the season. Let's watch to see what unfolds :o

And the chances are even less likely that the system will come to Florida. Anyone notice the HUGE trough expected to dive southward into the Central U.S. in the next several days?

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.
