Eastern Gulf

#1 Postby ameriwx2003 » Sun Oct 12, 2003 10:58 am

Joe B has been saying and says again today that he is worried about the Eastern Gulf thru Mid-week.Indeed looking at the Visible loop in the Gulf you can see a low level swirl moving S/SW, south of the Florida Panhandle. I don't think anything will come of this myself and think like several people have been saying, the Western Caribbean is the place to look the next 10 to 15 days for a US threat.. Comments??:):):)

Someone said to stick a fork into the Gulf... I am in agreement with that. It is done.

I said that in another thread and that's in regard to the large convective cluster that was there a day or so ago. It was a baroclinically driven area of convection and divergent shear which was clearly evident with the flow splitting north of Florida to the ENE and south of Florida splitting off to the SW.

Otherwise, the rest of the season still the GOM is an area to watch, just not in the immediate short term.
