This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

The last advisory has been written about Kate that is now extratropical but the question is if it will affect the UK and other parts of europe so ChaserUK watch out for Kate over there.

LOL I have been keeping tabs on this for a few days... however 50G65 Knot winds are not uncommon for the North of Scotland - now if a more southern track was to occour... My hope was that that ex Kate cold front would have provided some instablity as it crossed the uk for ?gulp tornados and water spouts...

UKMO 5 day FAX output here http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm

still I STILL go with my forecast for October end in that a real tank of an Atlantic depression will form in the bay of Biscay and track NE into the UK.

Yes Norway will be affected by the remains of ex Kate - but lets be realistic all that Norway will receive is a typical Autumn Atlantic depression – admitally it will be a deep one however.

What is more of interest is the cold polar air that gets pulled down behind kate – now with North Sea temps around 15C plus and 500mb temps of -33c this makes for a very unstable atmosphere. Add a few fronts to provide a kick …

Could be a interesting few days weather over the North Sea, East of England..

So, the North Sea temperatures are around 59°F and the 500mb temperatures are -27°F. Yes, indeed with a few fronts with a temperature difference as this would cause some interesting weather. :)
