Olaf up to 60 mph

#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Mon Oct 06, 2003 6:57 pm

At 5 PM PDT, the center of Tropical Storm Olaf was located about 45 miles south southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. A tropical storm warning remains in effect from Punta San Telmo to Cabo Corrientes, Mexico.

Olaf was moving erratically toward the north at near 4 mph and a north northwest motion is expected over the next 24 hours. On this track, the center of Olaf will be near the coast later this evening, particulalry near the Manzanillo area.

Olaf continues to organize with maximum sustained winds of near 60 mph with higher gusts. Further strengthening is possible prior to landfall overnight tonight.

Minimum central pressure is 997 mb or 29.44 inches.
