The closest point of approach of HURRICANE KATE to Bermuda within the next 72 hours, is forecast to be approximately 380 nm to the E at 9 pm Sun, Oct 5, 2003.

Hope the Bermudan's are right Dixie.. Kate packs quite a punch. Not a Fabian type punch... but very close to it..

So lets see.. we've had Fabian Isabel and Kate as majors..

and we've had Claudette, Fabian, Isabel, Juan and Kate as hurricanes.. {forgive me if I'm missing 1 lol}

My 3 majors prediction is good so far.. we've had 3.. but to get to 8 hurricanes may be asking for too much.. though I did predict 14 named storms.

Danny was a hurricane (with a minimum pressure of 1005mb.. lol) and Erika was also borderline.

Thank you Bahamas.. you're right.. Danny was a hurricane.. So we have had 6 not 5... My numbers sound a little better now :)

interestingly the latest from the NHC shows the remnants of Kate will affect the UK in five days time - if she stays to the most southern part of the forecast track things might turn out very interesting indeed!
