Tropical Weather Outlook


Statement as of 10:30 PM EDT on October 1, 2003


For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on newly-formed
Tropical Storm Larry...located about 300 miles east-southeast of
Tampico Mexico and on Hurricane Kate...located about 1295 miles
east of Bermuda.
Showers and thunderstorms centered about 750 miles east of the
Lesser Antilles are associated with a tropical wave. Upper-level
winds are expected to remain unfavorable for development.
Elsewhere...tropical storm formation is not expected through
Friday.

Yes, Luis, that's correct. Surprised it was mentioned -- that seemed to give it some shred of credibility.

That wave i wouldn't be surprised if it develped if it survives to get in the western Caribbean this is the last impressive wave that emerged from Africa (the one after Kate - it was V shaped while over Africa)

I have been mentioning it time and time again during the past week wondering if it could develop in the Western Caribbean (AKA Mitch-1998)

Negative. That V shaped wave that moved off the coast behind Kate is that barely discernable wave just east of the islands near 16N 57W... west of this recent flareup.

ok.. SO this is a diferent wave altogether or did the V shaped wave seperate (posible).
