INVEST 90 LOOKS MORE OMINOUS.........

this morning IMO. I know the NHC is calling it a "gale," but I wouldn't bet against some tropical development later today.

Agree with you Dixiebreeze. It looks to be getting better organized. Could be a problem for the Northeast/East Gulf States later this weekend or the first part of nest week if it lingers around for several days. :o All eyes need to pay attention to this.

Still don't think this one is going to become tropical. If it does I expect it to be pushed WSW into Mexico. More CAA is on the way today with a VERY STRONG cold front moving in from the N. There is the possiblilty of another gale center forming and moving E or ENE along the front to possibly cause some problems FL way over the weekend, if anything happens.

Doubt the local mets will mention much until NHC gets more excited about it -- if they do. Pressure is 1006 and it is over open, warm water, so development is possible, albeit slow. The QSCAT at NRL looks pretty good this a.m.

VB, I do agree the cold fronts are VERY strong and yes, that could make a huge difference if they are not inhibited moving SE.

Our channel 4 mets are saying that development is likely and the storm should move north then take a "sharp" turn into FL as possible a hurricane. Look out FL. They also say that LA should be protected by the cold fronts that are moving through. Hopefully it will not affect anyone but the system does look rather impressive.

Hmm.. Bold statement in New Orleans about a hurricane. But you never know... It could happen.. and it is October so it wouldn't surprise me..

John, NewsChannel 2's Chief Meteorologist Dave Marsh mentioned it yesterday during the
5:00pm, 5:30pm and 6:00pm newscasts.
