The other interesting thing to note is that while this has been called a cold core low, tangled up with a front, this vortex messages shows it to be warm core. There is a 2 degree C temp difference from the center of the vortex to the surroundings (lines I and J in the message). Also, the max winds are close to the center (31nm), probably close to the deep thunderstorms. Warm core, 40 - 50kt winds close to the center - sounds like a tropical storm to me.
