What a sight to wake up to this morning. And before I had a second cup of coffee, too.

Nasty for southern FL

#3 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Tue Sep 30, 2003 8:19 am

Just what they need is another batch of heavy rains and thunderstorms. They don't need anymore rain. Fort Myers for example has a monthly rainfall for September of 17.20 inches, a monthly record for the area. It's been way too wet down there this month!!

If it's going to Mexico, Gulfbreezer, it better get started soon. Looks like Florida will see most of it.

WOW :o 10.25! Here is West Palm Beach we received 10.88 during Hurricane Irene in 1999. Some areas of town suffered severe flooding from that. I hope ya'll get a break soon, but I don't know, there's a few blobs lurking out in the gulf. I wish you the best.

It appears as if most of this rain coming in from the Gulf now is going to impact areas north of the worst hit places yesterday. At least, that's what we were told during the early morning forecasts. This seems to be holding true as the movement is a little more north than east. Watch out, Dixie, Tampa, etc. I hope you don't get what we had yesterday!

Looks as if I spoke to soon. While I was posting, my Weatherbug popped up with a bulletin for another Flood watch as of 11 AM-we're expecting another 1-2" this afternoon. Great weather if your a duck!

Lynn, I hear that! Beautiful day right now, sunny, cool and windy. Feel like carving a pumpkin  But I don't trust those blobs and they do seem to be training NE. Expect we'll get some of it.
