Area of disturbed weather east of Florida

#1 Postby Pasmorade » Mon Oct 07, 2024 3:38 pm

Huh. No one's created a topic on this...

Southwestern Atlantic:
An area of disturbed weather located across portions of South
Florida, the Florida Straits and the northwestern Bahamas is
expected to move northeastward, where an area of low pressure could
form near the northwestern Bahamas. Some limited tropical or
subtropical development is possible while the low moves
northeastward to east-northeastward around 15 mph. However,
upper-level winds are likely to increase in a couple days, which
should prevent any further development.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...low...10 percent.

This actually has quite some support on the GEFS with many at TD strength within 24 hours. Don't think it'll be enough to get named though. Sorry we forgot about you, we're already a bit busy with Milton.

This was looking like it would of been born out of that frontal system that was in front of Milton. However as you can see with the out flow from Milton is causing a lot of shear over the area making it hard for anything to form up.
