... remnants get more of a following than a high end TS, possible H1 nearing a major population and tourist center.

You probably wouldn't find it so odd if you consider the locations of membership on this board. The strong majority of our members are on the East Coast/Gulf Coast/Caribbean. If we had a large following from the West Coast and/or Hawaii, I'm sure Flossie would be discussed to a great deal.

Yeah definitely location based. Majority of posters are eastern CONUS, people like to discuss things more if it's in their backyard. Another example is if a Carib system is coming into the gulf the first thing you will see is "It's trending west to Texas!" On cue "It's more east than predicted and going to move towards Florida." being the two most populous states in the gulf :lol:. An EPAC/CPAC system would need to be cat 4 or 5 to get the attention a blob of thunderstorms would get via a dying remnant low over in the Atlantic!

I find it a bit strange too, but Flossie is getting a lot of attention for an EPAC storm.
