A simulation in October 1997 had a "Hurricane Sandy", which had a great size and a low pressure, causing great damage on Long Island. A fellow weather enthusiast sent me this link.
This is truly one of the biggest coincidences I've seen in a while!
Sandy predicted 15 years ago (no trick, just a treat)

Just experienced a very strong case of deja vu.
That's just too weird. The scenario between then and now is spooky.

Because of this:
Westchester County Communications Officer Sandy Fried, an Amateur Radio operator and ODES staff member, had recently attended a training seminar at the National Hurricane Center in Miami. Part of the training was a simulation using data from the Hurricane of 1938 that caused major losses on Long Island and in Westchester. The texts of the simulated bulletins, forecasts, discussions and strike probabilities along with the hurricane's track were sent home with the seminar attendees. We named the simulated hurricane after Sandy, who incidentally was nine years old during the real Hurricane of 1938.

Just a small town southern boy helping other humans.
That is Beyond Insane!!!!

That is an amazing find, should be bigger considering how much of a long shot this is and way more than 5 replies in this topic. Even the extremely rare track was displayed that Sandy took. Now I don't believe in any of this HAARP stuff or weather control and planning, but this could really fuel those theories even though there is an explanation for how it got that name in the simulation. The coincidence is that incredible.

They even set their hypothetical hurricane in the month of October. Meteorologically though, it looks like a close copy of what we think the September 1938 hurricane was like - Category 3, moving rapidly north. Sandy was just so unprecedented, though this is a creepy coincidence.

I am not a meteorologist, and any posts made by me are not official forecasts or to be interpreted as being intelligent. These posts are just my opinions and are probably silly opinions.

As a ham radio operator since the late 1990's I think that exercise comes to mind, but that was based on a fast moving 1938-type hurricane and not the complex 2012 hybrid system that actually struck the area, but the name issue is something to think about...

I have a conspiracy theory friend who has been shoving HAARP down my throat for the past 2 weeks, and he's now using this simulation to "justify" his point. It's really annoying lol.

If I knew somebody whose grasp of reality was that frail, I might be tempted to take advantage of it.
